| 미국과 전 세계의 전반적인 에너지 미래상을 보면, 원유와 석탄 이외에도 (공급이 일정하진 않지만) 풍력과 같은 대체 에너지원이 풍부하며, 이들 상당수 에너지원은 단순히 21세기의 에너지 수요를 채우는 역할 이상임이 분명하다. 핵융합 에너지만 봐도 사실상 이 에너지는 무제한으로 값싼 청정에너지를 공급할 수 있다. 하지만 이러한 에너지가 실제 실용화가 되고 상업화가 될 때까지 더 진보된 기술이 나타나야 하는데, 여기에만 최소한 10년 내지 30년의 시간이 필요하다. 그렇다면 이 기간의 공백을 메울 수 있는 기술은 무엇일까? 유일한 해결책 중 하나가 바로 연료 전지이다.<br> |
